These are processed and graded according to internationally recognized standards. Every skin is graded for quality into First, Second or Thirds.

 

The skins are then individually weighed into one of the following categories:

 

Heavy Grade         2.60kg and over. Contains a maximum of 10% Second grade skins.

                             Packed 400 skins per pallet.

 

Medium Grade      1.50kg to 2.59kg. Contains a maximum of 10% Second grade skins.

                             Packed 500 skins per pallet.

 

Light Grade           1.00kg to 1.49kg. Includes First and Second grade skins.

                             Packed 700 skins per pallet.

 

Pieces Grade        This grade includes all skins weighing less than 1.0kg, or that are not

                             acceptable in any other quality grade. Packed 500 skins per pallet.
